What’s Included When You Buy a Pedigree Kitten?

When you compare prices between breeders, you are rarely comparing like with like. Two kittens listed at the same price can include very different things. Understanding what should be included helps you judge whether a price is fair — and whether a cheaper kitten will actually cost you more.

What we include with every kitten

• A full veterinary health check before the kitten leaves us
• F3 vaccination covering the core preventable diseases
• Microchipping
• Worming and parasite treatment
• Litter training and daily socialisation in a family home
• A written health record
• Lifetime aftercare advice

What is often not included (ask about these)

Not every breeder includes the same things, so ask explicitly about:

• Desexing. Some breeders desex before the kitten leaves; others place you under a desexing contract. Both are legitimate, but you should know which applies to you.
• Registration papers. Ask which registry, and whether you receive a pedigree certificate.
• The first vet visit. Even with vet checks done, you should book your own visit within the first few days.
• Starter supplies. A small bag of the food the kitten is used to makes the first week far easier.

Why the cheapest option usually is not

Health testing of parent cats, quality nutrition, veterinary care through pregnancy and kittenhood, and hundreds of hours of daily handling all sit behind a responsible price. A breeder who skips them can undercut the market — and the savings typically reappear later in vet bills and behavioural problems.
